uwk So spend time with the bible, is time with Jesus, is becoming more and more like him. uwk And by beholding we become changed, it's a law of association. You will start to possess the traits of those who you spend consent time. uwk it makes sense too.. the Bible is truth.. and Jesus is the truth.. so the bible is Jesus... and so consistent time with the bible is consistent time with Jesus. As I was studying to share my testimony for a group of high school students on Friday, I prayed for God to give me the words to speak. One of the Bible verses He gave me to meditate on was John 8:31-32, which states:
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
This is a reminder to me that we need to continue to study His word, as we do so we will learn the truth, unmasking the lies we believe from the deceiver of this world. As Jesus's disciples our job is to continue reading His word and we will be set free from this world. "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." I know I want to know the truth, and I know for myself I have more victory in my life as I am led by Christ who is the Truth.
As Joshua lay on his death bed he called the Israelites before him and said:
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Joshua 24:15
The same call is made unto us. "Choose this day whom ye will serve... as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Amen
