Take it to the Lord in Prayer
At times I feel overwhelmed by the difficulties and trials of life. I feel my extreme weakness and become discouraged by the hopelessness that I am feeling. I begin to question if it is ever possible for God to mend me because for me it seems impossible, but then He reminds me that "ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD!" I need to stop looking at myself, take it to the Lord in prayer, and look to Jesus who "makes all things new." In Isaiah 66:1-2 it state "Heaven is my throne and Earth is my footstool... I will look to the one who has a poor and contrite spirit." I love this promise because it reminds me of just how big God is. He, who is ruler of the universe, still looks down and sees me who has a poor and contrite spirit and reaches out His loving arms to hold me in His love. Recently a friend shared these encouraging words below which are a great reminder for me to look to God for "He will finish the good work that He began in each and everyone of us."
Prayer is the answer to every problem in life. It puts us in tune with divine wisdom, which knows how to adjust everything perfectly So often we do not pray in crtain situations, because from our standpoint the outlook is hopeless. But nothing is impossible with God!! Nothing is so entangled that it cannot be remedied; no human relationship is too strained for God to bring about reconciliation and understanding; no habit so deep-rooted that it cannot be overcome; no one is so weak that he cannot be strong; no one is so ill that he cannot be healed; no mind i'ds so dull that it cannot be made brilliant. Whatever we need, if we trust God, He will supply it. If anything is causing worry or anxiety, let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love, and power. -EG White Review and Herald October 7,1865Â |
